It is produced in Spain in the rough mountainous grounds throughout the Peninsula, especially in Galicia, Asturias, Castilla y León, Extremadura and Catalonia.

The honey is a red amber colour or darkish in colour with a slightly sour taste and little aroma. It also stands out for being a dense and viscous honey that crystallizes very quickly after packaging.

Heather honey is one of the least sweet honeys but it has many benefits for our health. Just like the darker honeys, heather honey has a great deal of minerals.
